Not only is Vx London’s first 100% vegan shop but it has also been a trailblazer in the development of vegan junk food and the way we eat it today. Pioneering the idea that a vegan diet doesn’t have to be limited to avocado on toast or a kilo of hummus, Vx shines a light on tasty, cruelty-free junk food.
Whilst I will, of course, review the food, it is worth noting that Vx was the first all-vegan clothing line in the UK and are amongst the first outlets to stock many of the biggest vegan brands, selling everything from buttons and cups to t-shits and totebags. They also are amongst one of the first vegan outlets to import vegan products and boast a fridge full of vegan cheese brands as well as favoured meat alternatives.
So onto the food….

Firstly I would like to say that the junk food menu is impressive. This is a vegan’s dream hangover menu. From marinara, meatball subs to pulled jackfruit wraps and spicy hot dogs covered in jalapeños and Siracha mayo, you won’t be disappointed by the amount of choice.
Between two of us we ordered a marinara meatball sub, the mac ‘n’ cheese, chicken nuggets and the Philly burger.
The Philly burger was the newest addition to their menu and is a cross between burger and toastie. It’s a burger that I decided to fill with onion relish, tomatoes, jalapenos and lots of vegan cheese. The burger is then toasted in the bun, melting the cheese perfectly.

So whilst this burger was really good as far as vegan junk food goes, I’ll admit that their mac ‘n’ cheese was not so impressive. It was not cheesy enough and I would not recommend you get this specific dish. However, the nuggets were great, the meatball sub was good (not great) and the burger was GREAT.
As if stuffing your face full of vegan junk food wasn’t enough, Vx also have an entire bakery case full of amazing pastries and cakes. From iced doughnuts to rainbow cake to salted caramel brownies, there is something for everyone in this little case of heaven.

They are also one of the few places serving soya ice cream with flavours updating and changing constantly.
Overall I would give Vx a 7/10. You get what you see with this place which is hearty, tasty, vegan junk food to expand that waistline.
